Diamond Lapping Paste And Slurry Supply
What This Process Needs To Solve
A paste or slurry is only as good as its dispersion. Diamond micron powder that arrives as loose powder has to be wetted, broken down and stabilised on site, and every operator does it slightly differently. Supplying the same powder pre-dispersed in a carrier removes that variable and makes the finish reproducible from shift to shift.
Paste, suspension or loose powder
Paste suits hand and bench work where a controlled amount is applied to a lap or a cloth — metallographic specimen preparation, mould and die polishing, dental zirconia and crown finishing. A liquid suspension suits automated dosing and recirculating systems. Loose powder stays the most economical option where the customer already runs a controlled mixing process at high volume.
Choosing the size
The FEPA micron series from W0.25 to W60 covers the whole range from rough lapping down to final finish. Two or three grades in a ladder will do more than one very fine grade, because the coarse step is what removes the previous damage instead of polishing over it.
Recommended Grades And Size Ranges
Paste is filled by weight and by micron grade; the carrier is chosen to suit the plate and the workpiece.
| Form | Recommended grade | Size range | Why this form |
|---|---|---|---|
| PasteSyringe or tub, water- and oil-based carriers | |||
| Metallographic polishing | HDY monocrystalline micron paste | W0.25 – W9 | Reproducible finish with no on-site mixing |
| Mould and die polishing | HDY monocrystalline micron paste | W1 – W14 | Controlled application on hard steel |
| Dental zirconia and crown finishing | HDY monocrystalline micron paste | W0.5 – W3.5 | Fine, clean cut on ceramic |
| Liquid suspensionRecirculating and dosing systems | |||
| Metal parts fine grinding | HDY monocrystalline micron suspension | W1 – W28 | Stable suspension, even feed |
| Polycrystalline option | HDP polycrystalline-like micron | W1 – W10 | Higher removal rate, fewer deep scratches |
| Loose powderFor customers with their own mixing process | |||
| High-volume lapping | HDY / HDP micron powder | W0.25 – W60 | Lowest cost per carat |
Send the material being polished and the finish you need and we will quote a paste ladder rather than a single pot.
What has to hold
- Dispersion stability in the carrier
- Uniform particle distribution with no agglomerates
- Very low metal-impurity content
- A suspension that does not settle out
- Consistent concentration batch to batch
Where it ships
Factory Direct Since 1990
Zhecheng Hongxiang Superhard Material Co., Ltd. is an integrated manufacturer and exporter of synthetic diamond powders since 1990, located in the Diamond Capital of China.
- Own manufacturing base in Zhengzhou, Henan — powder, coating and grading on one site.
- In-house particle size and SEM inspection on every batch before packing.
- Export packing with neutral or custom label, plus sample quantities for process trials.
What To Include
Describe your workpiece, process and target result. We will match the diamond grade from the existing product range.
