HDYS Agglomerated Diamond Powder is a polycrystalline grade from the HDYS series, produced factory-direct at our own base in Zhengzhou, Henan - the Diamond Capital of China. Standard grain size range: 20 - 50 um. Each batch is checked for particle size distribution before packing, and can be supplied in trial quantities for process validation.

Product Overview
HDYS Agglomerated Diamond Powder is not a single particle but a controlled cluster: micron diamond held together with a special binder into a near-spherical agglomerate, typically 20 to 50 µm across, with the individual diamond grains sized inside it.
The cluster behaves like a single abrasive with many cutting edges. While it is intact it cuts at the agglomerate size with a surface finish closer to the size of the grains inside it; as it wears, the surface grains dull and release, exposing new edges underneath. That self-renewing action reduces the number of pad or wheel dressings a process needs, and the open porosity in the cluster holds slurry and carries heat away from the workpiece.
Typical use is wafer thinning and polishing slurries for SiC, GaN and silicon, finishing of sapphire, optical crystal, phone cover glass and microcrystalline glass, fine ceramic and gemstone processing, and the manufacture of diamond polishing slurry and polishing pads.

Agglomerated diamond is quoted by the cluster size, with the size of the diamond grains inside it set to suit the surface finish you need. HDYS is supplied as standard from 20 to 50 µm; other cluster sizes are produced to order.
